Lucy Dendinger

My name is Lucy Dendinger and I thrilled to be a Writing Aide at JM.  I have lived in the Bay Area for the last 17 years, but grew up in San Diego. My husband Don is a physical therapist and we have been married for 20 years.  After graduating from UC Irvine, I sought a job in marketing and advertising.  I worked for Nordstrom as a marketing director for almost 15 years.  I primarily focused on new store openings throughout the western states.

Since then, I have been home raising my two daughters, Kate, a 7th grader and Anna, a 5th grader at LP.  I have served in many volunteer roles at Los Perales, was a Girl Scout leader and continue to do work for PTA, MEF and OMPA (the local swim league).  I am most proud of creating a mindfulness program at Los Perales, which focuses on teaching the students skills to reduce stress and anxiety primarily through deep breathing.

I love interacting with students and watching them grow academically, emotionally and socially.  I am looking forward to this new chapter and being a part of the JM team.
