JM is pleased to announce a performance of Nightmare on Puberty Street, a free play from Kaiser Permanente's Educational Theatre Programs. Nightmare on Puberty St. is an age appropriate, live theatrical performance about four young people on their journey through adolescence. It has been performed for over 5 million people across Northern California and has been staged several times at JM. Please see the attached Parent's Guide for detailed information about the play

All 7th and 8th grade students are scheduled to attend. Parents may opt their children out of seeing the performance if they wish to do so by completing and returning the attached "Opt Out " form.

Volunteers.jpg

We appreciate our volunteers.  You give countless hours of your free time to make sure JM has a variety of programs and activities.  Now, we need your help to ensure that our campus is safe.  We can't do it without you.

The Moraga School District's Student Safety Committee, comprised of school staff, parents and community members, has developed a new volunteer program to improve the safety of all persons on our campuses.

All school volunteers are required to complete the following and turn in the required documents at registration in August:

1) watch a safety video

2) complete a brief quiz based on the video

3) complete a volunteer application form

4) present a photo identification

All information to complete the requirements can be found on the MSD web site - click HERE - or go to www.moraga.k12.ca.us, click on the menu heading "Human Resources" and then "Volunteer".

We encourage volunteers to begin completing this process, and in order to facilitate this process prior to registration in August, the "Volunteer" web page includes several dates and times for District staff to immediately process your application.  Appointments are not necessary during the dates and time listed on the web page.  The District office is located at 1540 School Street, across the street from the old Post Office. Volunteer applications will not be processed at school sites.

Volunteers are thanked in advance for supporting the District to improve school safety.

Parent Volunteers Needed for Lunch Supervision

We created an additional opportunity for parents to volunteer at Joaquin Moraga.  We are in need of 3-4 parents each day to supervise students at lunch in various places on campus, such as the pavilion, basketball courts, fields and quad area.  One of our district and school goals is student safety and increasing student supervision is vital.  Research shows high rates of positive contact with students can be expected to significantly reduce student problem behavior for up to 90% of all students.  If interested, please sign up at: www.SignUpGenius.com/go/30E0F44A9A82DA31-weneed.
